Partners in Faith--Augusta, GA
It is often easier to focus on differences that divide us than it is to celebrate common ground. Because of the need for safe, affordable and decent housing in the Augusta area, members of the Congregation Church of Israel, Islamic Society of Augusta, Metropolitan Community Church of Our Redeemer, United African Christian Methodist Ministerial Alliance, and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Augusta joined together to not only build a Habitat for Humanity home, but to break down barriers and learn to respect one another. Participants in this project value the tenets of mutual respect for one another, acceptance of differences, and right to each other’s respective beliefs. These values are absolute.
Our work together began over a year ago as we began planning and fundraising (see Ethnic Feast pics)
